He's Back!

So Mississippian, Brett Favre told us all that he was retiring from the NFL... Well he changed his mind!

Perez Hilton Reports:

League bosses have confirmed that Brett Favre has sent his reinstatement paperwork to the NFL and is awaiting approval from commissioner Roger Goodell.

According to reports, once Favre is granted reinstatement the, Packers would have 24 hours to release the quarterback or return him to their active roster.

If Goodell reinstates Favre today, Wednesday, his return to the practice field for the Cheeseheads would most likely come Friday.

Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy said on Tuesday, "It's obviously the first step in Brett coming back, but we'll deal with that when Brett is reinstated and have a plan for that when he comes back."

The source goes on to report that the team has no plans to grant Favre the release he has requested, suspecting that he would immediately sign with division rival Minnesota. The Packers own Favre's rights until his contract expires after the 2010 season, making a trade the most likely outcome acceptable to both Favre and the Packers.

"Untitled" Video Ruined D'Angelo's Career???!!

Okay, so if you're like me you wondered what ever happened to singer, D'Angelo. It seems like after he put out "Untitled (How Does It Feel)" he just disappeared. And that was back in 2000 which was the height of his career. And I was feeling both albums.

He brought you songs like "Brown Sugar", "You're My Lady", "Cruisin'" (yea a Smokey Remake), and one of my personal favorites "Sh*t, D*mn, M*thaF*cka." lol

Anyways, he never released a third LP due to drug and alcohol abuse.

So getting to the point, in the August 2008 Issue of Spin Magazine, his former manager Dominique Trenier blames the “Untitled” video for D’Angelo’s downfall. According to Trenier, he pushed D’Angelo to do the video “naked” which opened him up to a new fan base who only came to his shows to see him take off his clothes:

“We couldn’t get through one song before women would start to scream for him to take off something” says Hargrove. “It wasn’t about the music. All they wanted was for him to take off his clothes.”

The cat calls had an undeniable effect on D’Angelo. “He’d get angry and started breaking sh*t,” Thompson remembers. “The audience thinking, “f*ck your art, I wanna see your ass!” made him angry”.

For D’Angelo, who, as Trenier puts it, “isn’t a sexy dude” but a “real
musician who wears glasses and plays video games,” the objectification appeared to do lasting damage. “I didn’t realize how vulnerable he was or how deep his issues ran.” Says Leeds. “He’s cursed now with fretting over how much of his fan base is because of how he looked as opposed to his music. It took away his confidence, because he’s not convinced why any given fan is supporting
him.

“I feel really guilty, because that was never the intention” Trenier
says. “Untitled wasn’t supposed to be his mission statement for Voodoo. I’m glad the video did what it did, but he and I were both disappointed because, to this day, in the general public’s memory, he’s the naked dude.” - Spin Magazine August 2008 Issue

The article went on to say that D’Angelo had strong roots in the church and struggled with the feeling of selling his soul to the devil because of his music.
He didn't enter the industry looking all buff and that in fact he was chunky, nerdy kid in glasses.

They made him work out to pull the video off and the newfound attention took a toll on his self esteem. He was a real musician who wanted people to buy his records and attend his shows for the “art” but he felt as though they were only buying his records because he exposed his body.

..Well I raise my hand proudly to say that I was one of the individuals who, when the "Untitled" video came on, would walk up to the TV and look down thinking that I was gonna see what the camera was not showin lol.
I loved and still loved his music. I'm just mad that he went from looking like that to looking like ODB (R.IP)..

So last night Soulja Boy threw his 18th Birthday Party at E Dub’s multi-million dollar mansion outside of Atlanta.

At his party he had performances by Sean Kingston, Shawty Lo, Nappy Roots, Young Joc, Hot Styles and Chingy.

However, the highlight of the evening wasn’t the performances but what occurred off stage between former group members Diamond and Princess of Crime Mobb.

A little background on that is last year at the 4th annual Dirty Awards, Diamond announced she was no longer a member of the group Crime Mob leaving her band mates embarrassed and confused because she failed to mention this beforehand.



So last night was the first time the two ended up in the same space and it got kind’ve crazy. Diamond approached Princess and the two exchanged verbal attacks when finally Princess challenged Diamond to a rap battle.

Diamond refused saying that she would only do it for money or “pay per view” and Princess ended up dropping some bars on her anyway. Ironically Shawty Lo played the role of peace maker.

But notice how Diamond's people came and got her when diamond started spittin' her "written" freestyle.

Gucci went to the Henry County Jail and was booked under charges of DUI and pot possession. He was released a few hours later after posting $3,300 bond. Mane spent time in the slammer after beating a promoter with a pool cue, and was charged with homicide not long after doing time -- but the charges were dropped. "

Kim was paid $40,000 in 2003 for her novel which was due by June of 2004.

Beijing, the home of the 2008 Olympics, appears to be a racist place.

A report claims that bar owners in the 'party' section of Beijing were asked by the government to refuse service to black patrons.

Bar owners near the Workers' Stadium in central Beijing say they have been forced by Public Security Bureau officials to sign pledges agreeing not to let black people enter their premises.

"Uniformed Public Security Bureau officers came into the bar recently and told me not to serve black people or Mongolians," said the co-owner of a western-style bar, who asked not to be named.


...This is an outrage! So you mean to tell me that the black athletes who spent their lives training for this won't be able to celebrate with their team mates?

Stabbed And Arrested! O-K-K-Kaaaaaaaaaay! lol

Atlanta Rapper Lil Scrappy was involved in a confrontation last night off of North Hairston Road in Dekalb County which resulted in him getting stabbed and then detained by Dekalb county police.

She went on to say:

Late last night Lil Scrappy received a call from his sister who was being attacked by her boyfriend. When he went to confront the guy, it resulted in him getting stabbed in the arm.

When the police arrived on the scene they found a .38 Caliber, 2 lbs of weed and 8 grand in his car. Scrappy is in stable condition and is currently being held on $1500 bond with charges that include felony firearm possession, felony marijuana possession, misdemeanor battery, and misdemeanor obstruction of officers.

Recently Around Jackson, MS...

David Banner recently had an album release party here in downtown Jackson, MS at a club by the name of Freelons Bar & Groove.

I was unable to attend (due to the fact that I was on the other side of the country). However, I had eyes and ears in the building thanks to my lovely sister pictured above with David Banner.

She informed me that my boy D. Banner performed in true "Banner" fashion. And that it wasn't just a show, dude did a CONCERT!

She went on to say how he told security to get out the way, jumped from the stage to the crowd. Then dude jumped on top of the bar!! And of course you know he had to pull his shirt off and show the Mississippi tat!

....Anybody that lives in the Sipp knows that when Banner performs here, he gives it all he has.

Girl Scout Camp Marijuana Farm Busted

Camp Officials Horrified To Learn That 5,000 Plants Had Been Found Growing On Their Grounds Police found thousands of marijuana plants being grown in a remote part of a Girl Scout camp, according to court documents and a scout official.

Officials at Camp Ella J. Logan were dismayed when they found out what had happened, said Sherri Weidman, chief executive of the Limberlost Girl Scout Council.

Police found the hidden marijuana farm with plants in various stages of cultivation in a wooded swampy area of Kosciusko County, according to documents filed Monday in U.S. District Court in South Bend. Some of the plants were growing on land belonging to a local resident, while the bulk - about 5,000 plants - were growing on camp land. State troopers in an airplane spotted the plots.

Mario Comacho, 44, Mariano Gonzales, 38, and a juvenile were arrested last week after police found the farm. Comacho and Gonzales, both of Goshen, appeared for an initial hearing Monday in federal court on charges of possession of more than 1,000 marijuana plants with the intent to distribute. Neither man had an attorney, according to court documents.

Johnny Coy, who owns part of the land where the pot was found growing, said he wasn't aware of the operation and rarely visits the swampy area.

Weidman said the area was in a remote part of the 220-acre camp accessible only by wading through the muck or taking a canoe. The land was bought by the council to provide a safety buffer, she said.

Parents of campers were informed of the discovery when they picked up their children.

And according to sources over at G-Unit, TONY YAYO HAS ACCEPTED BUCK'S CHALLENGE.

Word is that Yayo is already in talks with boxing promoters to see how this can be put together.

Okay so Bow Wow posted a video on youtube. Basically he did a verse to the song "Lookin' Boy" by Hot Stylez featuring Yung Joc. But in his verse he kinda disses Omarion.

On the record he chants:

That's Kinda Messed Up...

Remember Rapper/Actor Fredro Starr? He was in the group Onyx. He also was in the movie Sunset Park ("Shorty Do Wop" lol) and played Brandy's boyfriend, Q, on the sitcom Moesha.

Well dude just put Brandy’s business out in the streets. When asked during a recent interview whether he had a relationship with Brandy, the rapper/actor said the following:

Interviewer: [Brandy] was your chick at one time right?

Fredro: NEVER

Interviewer: So you were just smashing that?

Fredro: Nah, I never f*cked her. The head was good though. The head was crazy …. I never hit it though.

When I was trying to hit it she was f*cking with Wanye. But Ray J’s my n*gga, Brandy’s my n*gga. It was a good time, man. Moesha was good.

Interviewer: She’s the one who co-signed for you for the role on Moesha.

Fredro: Yeah, she saw me in a movie I made with Rhea Pearlman called Sunset Park. All she would watch every day was - Sunset Park. So she kind of had an obsession over me. But for $25,000 an episode it was cool for me. That was good money.

Aint that just a damn shame? He didn't have to do Brandy like that...I kinda had a thing for him too....
